About Autosheet

Autosheet is an AI agent for Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, built by Talarian. Users interact with Autosheet through a chat panel inside their spreadsheet: they type what they need in plain language, and the agent executes directly in their file. From formulas, formatting and analysis to translating, tagging or enriching data row-by-row at scale, it handles the full range of spreadsheet tasks — writing and fixing formulas, creating charts and pivot tables, cleaning and reorganizing data, building models and forecasts — and can also apply AI to every row individually for tasks like translation, categorization, content generation, web research, and data enrichment. No prompt engineering required. Autosheet has over 55,000 paid customers and 7 million installations, and is used by teams at organizations including BCG, Wurth, ASOS, Sky, Velux, Aucto, Klook, Vertbaudet, CIL, Rogers, and Tingstad.

How it works

Autosheet adds a chat panel to your spreadsheet. You type what you want in plain language — "create a pivot table by region and month," "translate column A to French," "clean up this data" — and the agent reads your spreadsheet, plans the steps, and executes them. There is no configuration UI to learn and no prompt engineering required. For bulk workflows, it can process up to 1,000 rows per minute, scaling to hundreds of thousands of rows. It works in Excel (Windows, macOS, and web) and Google Sheets.

Background story

In early 2023, we at Talarian saw an opportunity to couple the new generation of large language models with the most widely used productivity interface on earth: the spreadsheet. We set out to build the best AI integration for Google Sheets and Docs, drawing on years of experience building Google Workspace products. That became our Google Sheets and Docs add-on. Try it out!

The add-on grew so quickly that Microsoft reached out and recommended we build the same product for Excel and Word. We launched the Excel and Word add-in in mid-2023. Try it out!

Since then, the product has evolved significantly. What started as spreadsheet functions for prompting AI from cells grew into dedicated bulk-processing tools, then into a full AI agent that can handle virtually any spreadsheet task from a single chat interface. Today, Autosheet is as useful for writing a formula or formatting a table as it is for translating 10,000 product descriptions.

What makes Autosheet different

  • Bulk workflows at scale. Autosheet can run row-by-row AI processing from a single prompt, handling up to 1,000 rows per minute and scaling to thousands of rows per run.
  • Faster overall. Autosheet is consistently faster than alternatives for everyday tasks like formulas, formatting, and charts — and significantly faster for bulk processing. See our speed benchmark.
  • No AI lock-in. Autosheet supports OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Mistral, DeepSeek, xAI, and local models via Ollama. Users can bring their own API key or set a custom endpoint.
  • Real human support. The support team maintains a 98% CSAT score with an average response time under 1 hour (outside nights and weekends).
